Replace Chilled Water Pipes

Awarded on August 5, 2014, this Task Order project under the Navy MACC is a Design-Build task order, integrating sustainable design strategies, to replace the chilled water piping, fan coil units (FCU) and damaged surfaces/framing at Building 1156H, Joint Base Pearl Harbor Hickam (JBPHH). Two 45-ton chillers located behind Building 1160H work intermittently to cool Building 1156H, 1158H as well as 1160H. The chilled water piping runs from the plant underground to the building. The pipes enter the building at the enclosure on the courtyard side of the building, nearest Building 1160H. The existing chilled water pipes run vertically to the attic and run lengthwise above the second floor ceiling. The insulation has failed and the condensation from the pipes dripping on to the surfaces below, causing water damage to the gypsum ceiling, framing, insulation and creating mold/mildew growth. All replaced piping shall be copper.
